Maximum Life Christian Church was started in August, 1985 as Pastors Carroll & Muriel Johnson, Jr. felt directed by God to pioneer a brand new ministry in the Randallstown, Maryland area.
God spoke to Pastor Carroll in a supermarket as he watched a young mother with food stamps in her hand attempt to get control of an unruly young child. As he watched the scene of despair and frustration as this young lady struggled with her children, someone remarked,"That child hasn't been raised properly." Pastor Johnson responded, "Unless somebody does something, this child could be lost!" Immediately, the Holy Spirit cried out to Pastor Johnson,
"Why aren't YOU doing something about it?"
That resounding question birthed a vision that quickly led Pastors Carroll and Muriel to launch the ministry even though they had no members or financial backing. The burden to reach this generation with the power and good news of the Gospel has been a driving force in the programs and emphasis of Maximum Life. The Lord has blessed us to have a powerful impact on many young families, teens, and children since 1985. God has blessed us with a beautiful 5 acre Headquarters tract in Woodlawn where Phase I of our new worship complex is under construction.
